Two suggestions.

1) You need to realize you're not a "freak" as they define it. People are cruel. Don't listen to them.

or

2) If you're so convinced you're a "freak," accept it..welcome it. Make it YOUR definition of a freak. Not THEIRS.

That seems to be the default insult word used on anyone who seems a bit different than all the other boring, plain ol' everyday people.

So, in other words: If you're not perfect in most ways (physically, mentally, athletically, socially) and you seem not to be BOTHERED that you're different, then you MUST be a freak, right? You're not going with the flow.. you must be a freak, right?

I've had plenty of people call me things. Freak, ugly, emo, stupid, wierdo... the list goes on. Honestly, I'm proud. I'm proud I'm different enough for people to feel the need to call me these things.

If you are different for ANY reason, just be happy that you're not a fuckin' sheep like the rest of the crowd.

You have talents and an imagination that obviously, most people don't quite get. THAT_IS_A_GOOD_THING! Sure, you're not gonna jive with a lot of people, but there's plenty of us out there that you DO jive with. We all love you, man. It sucks that most of us can't be around to kick the asses of those jerks who persecute you so, or just to be there when you need someone REAL to talk to.

All we can do is type these little notes to you and hope you take them to heart.. because even though it's hard for us to put any emphasis into text, and even though we could say anything at all whether it be genuine or not, WE_DO_MEAN_IT!

You're an awesome guy, man. So freakin creative and talented that it PISSES ME OFF to no end to think of people treating you like crap. But then I start to remember how my life was before I was able to escape to the seclusion of my apartment or the groups of friends I've found that accept my differences. I know how it feels. It still bothers me sometimes, but not so much anymore.

I just hope that you can eventually get to that point to. Just realize that whoever deems it necessary to insult you or put you down ISN'T WORTH YOUR TIME!

We love you, man! Don't ever forget it, alright?

You are NOT really a "freak" the way THEY define it. You're different than the rest. THAT'S GOOD.

Thankyou for the advice. Believe me, I've use both approaches. The fact is though, either way it still doesn't stop the insults from hurting. But it is nice to know you are there to talk to.

i get told i'm a freak/weird/quirky/strange all the time, i just take it as a compliment! lol if people can't deal with it, then they're not worth bothering with! be yourself

Very true, but sometimes you can't take it as a compliment when it is really insulting in nature.
